Privacy Policy for Place Notes
Effective Date: May 4, 2026
Overview
"Place Notes - Save Maps Listings" (the "Extension") is a simple bookmarking tool designed to help you save business details from Google Maps directly to your local device. We value your privacy and believe in full transparency.
Data Collection and Storage
- Local Storage Only: All saved places are stored exclusively on your device using your browser's local extension storage.
- No Cloud Sync: The Extension does not connect to any external servers, databases, or third-party APIs. Your data never leaves your device unless you manually export it.
- User-Initiated Action: The Extension only reads listing details when you explicitly click the "Save Current Listing" button. It does not automatically scrape, crawl, or read pages in the background.
- No Analytics or Tracking: We do not track your browsing history, usage patterns, or clicks. There are no analytics scripts or ad trackers included in the Extension.
Data Sharing
Because your data is only stored locally on your computer, we do not have access to it. Therefore, we do not and cannot sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use Statement
The Extension's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is collected solely for the purpose of providing the core functionality (bookmarking and exporting business listings), and is not used for generalized profiling or advertising.
User Control
- Data Deletion: You can delete all your saved places at any time using the "Clear All" button in the Extension popup.
- Exporting: You can export your data to an Excel file locally on your device without requiring internet access.
